MPR Associates Expands to Boston Area

Alexandria, Va.-based MPR Associates Inc.’s Product Development Group, which specializes in medical, diagnostic and laboratory device design and development, has added a new office in Chelmsford, Mass., near Boston.

MPR has a substantial base of clients located in the Boston area, so the expansion was a natural move designed to enhance the company’s business relationships.

“The strategic importance of an office near Boston serving the New England region cannot be overstated,” said MPR’s Product Development Group’s Vice President Christian Haller. “MPR has many clients and potential clients here who will directly benefit from having a fully capable MPR design and engineering office close at hand. Boston is one of the top hubs of medical, diagnostic, and laboratory device manufacturing, and our new Chelmsford office will bring our world class design and product development resources to bear on a local level.”

The announcement of the new office comes on the heels of multiple accolades won by companies who have used MPR’s “Wow that Works” approach to products design, development and commercialization.

Bob Walden, MPR’s director of business development, explained the Wow that Works process: It’s a “fully integrated” approach, he said, using only in-house resources. “It is more than a capability—it is a culture and a philosophy that embodies all aspects of workflow, human factors, ergonomics, use case and analysis, and aesthetics in a creative process that also minimizes risk through application of a technical knowledge, ‘first principles’ engineering, and comprehensive testing and validation.”
