Medtronic matters mattered most to MPO’s digital audience this past week.

The world’s largest medtech company nabbed two spots on the website’s most-read list, topping it off with news of its strategic alliance with GI Alliance, the nation’s leading network of managed gastroenterology practices. The collaboration will provide Medtronic’s  GI Genius intelligent endoscopy module to the Alliance’s more than 400 site locations. The Medtronic GI Genius system uses artificial intelligence to improve diagnostic accuracy by serving as a second set of eyes for clinicians, demonstrating a 99.7%-100% sensitivity rate when screening for polyp detection and generating improved outcomes for patients.

Medtronic’s other pageview populator came from the Western Europe launch of its Avalus Ultra bioprosthesis valve, which provides ease of use at implantation, clear visibility for possible TAV-in-SAV procedures, and industry-leading effective orifice areas (EOA) with long-term valve durability based on a decade of clinical experience with the valve.

GE HealthCare generated significant website traffic with its own Europe-related news, enticing readers by announcing an initiative (Thera4Care) to broaden patient access on the continent through theranostics, which combine imaging diagnostics and targeted therapeutics for personalized treatment. It leverages molecular imaging technology to visualize tumor receptors. If these are present, a radioactive drug can also be delivered to selectively target the tumor cells. Thera4Care will create, implement, and disseminate standardized, scalable methods to produce, detect, and monitor key theranostic isotopes, from manufacturing and early diagnostic delivery to therapy.

Other high-ranking website content this past week included CMR’s leadership change and Mecury Medical’s Neo-Tee T-Piece Resuscitator recall.
