MicroPort NeuroScientific has launched the NUMEN Coil Embolization System (NUMEN) in Egypt, in partnership with PentaMed.

The first case, a complex large ACOM aneurysm, at Neurospitalia Hospital was conducted by Prof. Farouk Hassan. Seven NUMEN coils were deployed with Y-stenting, achieving complete aneurysm occlusion and deliver favorable clinical outcome.

Available in 177 specifications, NUMEN features ultra-fine platinum–tungsten wire and a distinctive three-dimensional structure that combines flexibility with optimal support. The design reduces pressure on the aneurysm wall and accommodates a wide variety of aneurysm morphologies.

This launch marks an exciting step forward as MicroPort NeuroScientific continues expanding access to neurovascular solutions across this region. To date, NUMEN is commercially available in more than 30 countries and regions worldwide.

MicroPort NeuroScientific, an associated company of MicroPort (MicroPort Scientific Corporation), is committed to the research and development of high-end medical devices in neurological interventional treatment with solutions that currently support more than 120 cerebrovascular stenting procedures daily. In the future, MicroPort NeuroScientific will continue investing more resources in innovation and development to provide more cerebrovascular and neuro-interventional solutions for physicians and patients.
