Masimo, Cambridge University Hospitals Expand Virtual Care Program

Masimo announced that Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundations Trust, UK, is using the Masimo W1 advanced health tracking watch in its telehealth and telemedicine programs.
 
Masimo W1 provides accurate, continuous measurements of key physiological parameters and is available in the UK as a medical device that integrates with the Masimo SafetyNet remote patient management platform.

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundations Trust began its virtual ward program last year as part of an NHS England telehealth initiative to promote earlier patient discharge to the home. Over 20 specialties in the hospital now participate in Cambridge’s virtual program, which send patients home with Masimo products like MightSat and wearable medical devices like Radius PPG, Radius T, and Masimo W1. These devices enable monitoring and vital signs data to be relayed to clinicians back at the hospital.
 
Using the SafetyNet clinician dashboard, doctors can watch patients’ physiological status from afar so patients can be monitored in their own homes.

Last week, Masimo released its Stork Vitals+ home baby monitoring system to offer  insights into health data to help parents learn more about and be better connected with their baby.
