Konica Minolta, Shimadzu Collaborate on Imaging System

Konica Minolta Medical Imaging and Shimadzu Medical Systems USA have announced a collaboration to offer a retrofit X-ray system consisting of a Shimadzu MobileArt Evolution system and Konica Minolta’s AeroDR.

The system uses a 14-inch x 17-inch Konica Minolta flat-panel digital radiography (DR) detector, available in HQ and standard-resolution sizes. It also is available with an XE panel for extreme environments, or a smaller 10-inch x 12-inch HQ detector for pediatric or dual-panel applications.

The unit is the most recent introduction of DR systems that combine Shimadzu MobileArt Evolution portable x-ray technology and the Konica Minolta AeroDR wireless detector.

The new portable solution now is available with a larger console and a 17-inch touch-screen monitor. The console mounted system offers a larger viewing area to simplify operation and enhance clinical confidence, according to a Konica Minolta news release. The larger console provides additional space for accessories and storage, along with a detector slot that facilitates bagging and cleaning of the AeroDR panel.

The CS-7 portable control station delivers an easy-to-use, common interface on a 17-inch screen that facilitates easier viewing for more patient-centric workflow and improves image quality. A three-second preview streamlines workflow while the cable-free operation of the digital portable system allows for easy image detector positioning while reducing patient discomfort and stress during portable procedures.
