KCI Files Patent Infringement Suit Against Convatec, Boehringer

Kinetic Concepts, Inc. and Wake Forest University Health Sciences are suing Convatec Inc., Boehringer Wound Systems, LLC and Boehringer Technologies, L.P. for patent infringement in North Carolina Federal District Court for the commercialization of Engenex negative pressure wound therapy system. They allege the therapy is based on KCI’s proprietary Vacuum Assisted Closure, or V.A.C., Therapy System.
