Invuity Appoints Senior Advisor to its Board of Directors

Invuity Inc., a medical technology company focused on minimal access surgery, has appointed Scott D. Flora to its Board of Directors. Flora, who brings more than 30 years of medical device leadership experience, has served as a senior advisor for the company since February 2015.
 
“We are thrilled to have Scott join our board and we hope to further leverage his extensive sales and marketing background and medical device domain expertise as we continue to broaden our commercial offerings,” said Invuity CEO Philip Sawyer.
 
Over the last several decades, Flora has built a history of successfully executing new product launches and commercial expansion, as well as driving business development efforts. Flora served as president, Global Business Unit, Surgical Devices, at Covidien plc for five years. Before that he developed and mentored strong commercial teams over 20 years at Smith & Nephew plc, where he served in various positions, cumulating in his role as president and general manager, Orthopedics Reconstruction.
 
Flora was most recently CEO of OmniGuide Surgical, where he led the $25 million venture-backed surgical energy business for three years. In addition, Flora serves and has served on numerous medical device company boards, including MAKO Surgical, Conventus Orthopedics, and Agnovos Healthcare.
