The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has posted the names of several companies and Web sites that are allegedly illegally promoting products to treat the H1N1 flu virus (Swine Flu) and have received warning letters from the agency.

Companies named include:

• Las Vegas, Nev.-based Nzymes, which manufactures nutritional supplements for both pets and people. Its Web site, www.nzymes.com, claims that the company’s Ox-EDrops can be effective in preventing different strains of the flu. However, the company’s Web site also claims that there is “no specific proof” that Ox-E-Drops can diffuse the flu strain.

• ReBuilder Medical Technologies Inc., a medical device research, development and manufacturing company. Its site, http://rebuildermedical.com, markets a Swine Flu Protection Kit, which, according to the company, is intended to prevent people from getting the flu strain. The kit includes shampoo, and the Web site says consumers can use it to help prevent them from contracting the flu.
