Ethox International Acquired by Moog, Inc.

Buffalo, N.Y.-based Ethox produces medical devices and is a contract manufacturer of disposable products for many OEMs. The firm, which had revenues of $27 million last year, also provides microbiology, toxicology and sterilization services.
 

The acquisition broadens Moog’s disposable product base and solidifies its position as a manufacturer of infusion therapy equipment. The East Aurora, N.Y.-based company entered the medical device market in 2006 with the acquisition of Curlin Medical, a manufacturer of electric ambulatory infusion pumps. Since then, Moog has acquired the McKinley product line of disposable pumps, the ZEVEX enteral feeding pumps, and late last year, Aitecs syringe pumps.
 

Besides the pumps, Moog produces the disposable administration sets.

“The acquisition of Ethox broadens our product base in disposables,” said Martin Beradi, president of Moog’s Medical Devices Group. “[The deal] brings to our company an experienced management team and substantial production capabilities.”
 

 Ethox has a full complement of U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved sterilization facilities, as well as microbiology and toxicology laboratories.
