Encare Raises €1.5 Million to Advance Surgical Care

Encare has secured €1.5 million in funding to support its continued expansion, product development, and entrance into new international markets. Existing and new shareholders, through the Sciety network, participated in the financing round. 

Encare serves more than 150 hospitals worldwide, and has experienced more than 30% growth in the last year. The capital raised will be used to further increase revenue by expanding sales to existing customers and acquiring new customers. Additionally, Encare will prioritize product development to cater to specific market needs. This strategic development will facilitate the company’s expansion into new key international markets, including the United States.

Encare’s solution has the potential to prevent avoidable deaths and complications, resulting in significant cost savings for the global healthcare industry.

Encare is a health tech company that developed a SaaS solution to improve surgical outcomes. Encare’s interactive, cloud-based solution enables healthcare providers to follow international treatment guidelines before, during, and after major surgical procedures. Encare’s service contains programs, so-called protocols, based on the international guidelines ERAS, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, which result from research and best practice worldwide. Encare was founded in 2009 by Professor Olle Ljungqvist, who is also one of the founders of the ERAS Society, the network of perioperative care authorities that develops the guidelines. In 2022, Professor Ljungqvist was honored for his work with ERAS from the international surgical association ISS/SIC.
