Encare’s ERAS Interactive Audit System (EIAS) is being expanded at the Mayo Clinic to further support the implementation and monitoring of evidence-based perioperative care pathways. The solution was selected based on its ability to address a real-world clinical need using a data-driven, scalable approach, in order to advance patient-centered care and operational effectiveness.

EIAS supports Mayo Clinic healthcare teams by structurally capturing and analyzing perioperative process and outcome data, thus helping improve protocol adherence, clinical governance, and pathway performance across surgical service lines. Through a collaboration with Mayo Clinic Platform_Solutions Studio, the solution was evaluated for clinical relevance, intended use, and performance, and deployed into clinical workflows to support meaningful, real-world impact.

“Working with Mayo Clinic Platform _Solutions Studio has enabled us to validate that our solution can be implemented and sustained in one of the world’s most advanced healthcare environments,” Encare CEO Rasmus Waller said. “This collaboration reinforces the importance of structured measurement, benchmarking, and governance in delivering consistently high-quality perioperative care for patients.”

Mayo Clinic Platform _Solutions Studio accelerates the development and deployment of digital health solutions by offering access to global, federated de-identified data and scalable integration into clinical workflows. The program evaluates each solution for intended use, proposed value, and clinical and algorithmic performance, providing transparency and credibility and enabling clinicians to adopt transformative health technologies.

“Working with Mayo Clinic Platform accelerates digital health innovation,” stated Steve Bethke, vice president of Solution Developer Market at Mayo Clinic Platform. “We provide digital health companies with the tools, data, and capabilities needed to efficiently develop and deploy AI-driven solutions, all to support care teams and improve patient outcomes.”

Encare is a healthtech company that develops a SaaS solution that contributes to improving surgical outcomes. Encare’s interactive, cloud-based solution enables healthcare providers to follow international treatment guidelines before, during, and after major surgical procedures. Encare’s service contains programs, so-called protocols, based on the international guidelines ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery), built on research and global best practice. Encare was founded in 2009 by Professor Olle Ljungqvist, a founder of the ERAS Society—a network of perioperative care authorities that develops the guidelines. In 2022, Professor Ljungqvist was awarded the most prestigious prize in the world of surgery by the International Society of Surgery (SS/SIC) for his work with ERAS.
