Bioelectronic tech company electroCore has completed its merger with NeuroMetrix to solidify itself as a leader in noninvasive health and wellness solutions.

Acquiring NeuroMetrix’s Quell fibromyalgia solution grown electroCore’s line of noninvasive bioelectronic therapies and fortifies its commercial reach, especially in the VA Hospital System. The acquisition will also increase the company’s addressable market for treating chronic pain and wellness conditions.

The deal was first revealed in December 2024.

electroCore touts a non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation (nVNS) technology platform. The company focuses on commercializing devices to manage and treat certain conditions and consumer product offerings using nVNS to promote general wellbeing and performance.

The company recently received five new patent issue notifications from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

NeuroMetrix develops and commercializes neurotechnology devices to tackle unmet needs in chronic pain and diabetes. The company’s wearable or handheld devices are enabled by mobile apps, enterprise software, and cloud-based systems.

“With this transaction now closed, we are well-positioned to immediately leverage our established distribution channels, particularly within the VA Hospital System, to accelerate adoption of the Quell Fibromyalgia solution,” said electroCore CEO Dan Goldberger. “This addition meaningfully expands our addressable market and diversifies our portfolio of non-pharmaceutical, non-invasive nerve stimulation offerings, strengthening electroCore’s position as a leading publicly traded bioelectronic technology platform focused on wellness and chronic pain management.”
