Dexcom revealed that its G7 15 Day continuous glucose monitoring system (CGM) earned Health Canada authorization for adults living with diabetes.

According to the company, the G7 15 Day CGM is the longest-lasting and most accurate CGM system currently authorized by Health Canada. The CGM generates real-time glucose readings for a reportedly industry-leading 15.5 days.

The complex, challenging diabetes condition impacts over four million Canadians. It necessitates constant management of glucose levels and decision-making in order to manage safely.

“Small improvements can make a meaningful difference for people living with diabetes,” said André Côté, VP and GM of Dexcom Canada. “Dexcom G7 15 Day reflects our ongoing commitment to simpler, more seamless diabetes management.”

The system is not yet available for purchase despite its approval by Health Canada.

“Our focus is on ensuring that when the product becomes available, Canadians living with diabetes and their healthcare providers have the support, education, and experience they need from day one,” Côté went on. “We look forward to sharing more details as we move closer to availability.”

The G7 15 Day CGM received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for adults in April 2025. It launched in the U.S. on December 1.
