Covidien will lay off 70 employees from its facility in Norwalk, Neb., over the next few months as a result of restructuring efforts, according to the Ireland-based firm.

The medical device manufacturer, which is restructuring so it can operate more efficiently, makes syringes and blood-collection tubes, among other products.

The plant will have about 360 workers after the cutbacks are finished by April, according to the company.
