Cook Medical has released its NewVT vitrification device in the U.S.

The device is a secure solution for embryos and oocytes during vitrification, cryo-storage, and relocation. Cook Medical also announced that it’s transforming to become a trusted in-vitro fertilization (IVF) partner, offering simulation training and education courses to support the IVF process.

NestVT features a recessed, concave “nest” to minimize specimen disturbance during capping. Its triangular design provides a stable base and improves manipulation of the device. A recessed indentation on the cap marks a defined area for forceps for a secure grip.

Cook Medical said the device’s material performs consistently under extreme fluctuations in temperature, as well.

Cook will offer educational partnerships with leading IVF clinics and simulation training on OPU and embryo transfer. Since 2020, the company has hosted over 35 embryo transfer simulation workshops for more than 280 healthcare professionals.

“We designed the NestVT device with helpful features to make the process of oocyte and embryo freezing and storing easier,” said Jeff Lasher, manager of product management for Cook’s IVF and reproductive health specialty. “The NestVT device complements Cook’s other reproductive health products to offer fertility specialists a complete portfolio to support their patients from egg retrieval to implantation. This entire portfolio of products empowers fertility clinicians to do their best work and provide patients with the best service possible.”
