Contech Medical International Rebrands as Advant Medical

Company plans to sell its own line of devices.

In a competitive business environment, how people recognize you is the gateway to a company’s product or service. Very often, over time, as a company changes, so must its corporate identity.

Contech Medical International, a provider of contract services in areas of design, assembly, manufacturing and packaging to the global medical device industry has changed its name to Advant Medical.

The name change, according to company leadership, is part of an overall rebranding strategy to better reflect the broader services offered and the development of innovative products in the areas of catheter and guidewire delivery systems and vascular access devices.

“Our new corporate identity allows us to realign and position the company to target new business in both new medical markets and international territories,” said company CEO Bob DiPetrillo.

From its global headquarters in Galway, Ireland, Advant Medical has 20 years of experience providing contract services in areas of design, packaging and assembly to the medical device market. In recent years the company has invested heavily in its research and development and engineering capabilities and has partnered with many of the leading cardiovascular companies in product development.

“While our focus remains on offering contract services to the industry, our R&D investment means that over the next three to five years we will develop improved and new products under our own brand, the first of which is Centurion, a device that greatly reduces the risk of damage to the stent and balloon during transportation and handling,” DiPetrillo added.

The firm employs 85 people.
