Dianyx Innovations’ artificial intelligence (AI)-powered “smart” sensors within Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) are making their official debut at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The solution delivers continuous and personalized patient data and opens new revenue opportunities for medical prescribers through existing Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) codes.

With its network of sleep clinics, Dianyx has immediate access to a 70,000-strong U.S. sleep apnea patient population.

“Currently, Oral Appliance Therapies are underutilized, and our AI-driven sensors will enhance confidence in prescriptions to increase utilization, improve outcomes for patients, and generate revenue for healthcare providers,” Dianyx Innovations Co-Founder Asim Roy, M.D., said.

In addition to its sleep apnea treatment prowess, Dianyx’s advanced technology can potentially transform other fields—including sports medicine—by embedding their sensors into mouthguards for all major professional contact sports-related dental injuries and monitor potential concussions.

Sleep apnea affects millions of Americans, yet compliance with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) devices remains low, with up to 60% of users finding the devices intolerable. This non-compliance leads to ineffective treatment and contributes to more than $150 billion loss in untreated sleep apnea in the U.S. Meanwhile, other critical healthcare challenges, such as monitoring for sports-related concussions, lack effective, integrated solutions.

Dianyx Innovations has invented a compact, AI-powered oral appliance technology that not only addresses CPAP therapy’s limitations but also extends its competence to other critical use cases. This intraoral Technology Enhanced Sleep Appliance (t.e.s.a) can seamlessly integrate into any existing oral appliance. Key features include:

  • AI-driven accuracy: Advanced algorithms continuously collect and analyze patient data, including heart rate, oxygen levels, temperature, head position, sleep stages, and Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI), delivering more accurate insights than traditional methods.
  • Ergonomic design: Compact, flexible and lightweight, ensuring patient comfort throughout the night.
  • Wireless charging: Three nights without recharging.
  • Accompanied cloud and app: Integrated remote patient monitoring (RPM) allows clinicians to oversee treatment in real-time and make proactive adjustments.
  • Efficacy data and revenue: Generates detailed, billable data for medical prescribers, enabling new revenue opportunities through existing RPM codes.

The technology behind the ‘Smart’ Oral Appliance can also be embedded into sports mouthguards, creating a solution for real-time monitoring of potential concussions in contact sports for all ages. For NFL players, this capability could provide on-the-spot data about head impacts, helping trainers and medical staff detect and manage concussions more effectively. The versatility of Dianyx technology, empowered by AI, addresses health and well-being across various facets.

Dianyx Innovations has secured Letters of Intent (LOIs) through an established network of sleep clinics throughout the United States, demonstrating strong demand for its patent-pending solution. Such interest highlights the urgent need for an alternative to CPAP therapy and underscores the trust in Dianyx’s technology to meet that immediate need.

“Currently, Oral Appliance Therapies are underutilized, and our AI-driven sensors will enhance confidence in prescriptions to increase utilization, improve outcomes for patients, and generate revenue for healthcare providers,” Roy stated.

Dianyx Innovations is showcasing its “smart” sensors at Booth 62062 through Jan. 11.
