Arineta is partnering with Shandong Yituo Medical Technology Development Co. Ltd. (SYMT), a JMC-invested company, to address a sharp rise in cardiovascular disease in China. The new joint venture company, Arineta (Shandong) Medical Equipment Co. Ltd., will soon install the first SpotLight Duo at a leading health system in Jinan, China, to meet a growing need for ultra-premium cardiac computed tomography (CT) in the Middle Kingdom.

“The establishment of  the Arineta (Shandong) Medical Equipment Co. Ltd. in collaboration with our partners at SYMT based in the Jinan Medical Center in Shandong is a major milestone in the growth of Arienta and our commitment to physicians and patients in China to address their growing cardiothoracic care needs,” stated Arineta CEO Doug Ryan, who also is chairman of the new JV company.

Arineta’s U.S. Food and Drug Administration-cleared SpotLight Duo provides a single-beat, whole-heart scan optimized with 140mm coverage at a rotation speed of 0.24 sec per rotation. Its deep-learning imaging reconstruction (DLIR) technology provides superior image quality by reconstructing cross-sectional images, which allows for a more complete and accurate scan, according to the company. The SpotLight Duo adds high-resolution thoracic clinical capabilities for lung cancer and other pulmonary diseases to its cardiovascular technology. Since China is consistently among the top 10 countries with the highest incidence of cardiovascular disease (CVD), the introduction of Arineta’s advanced cardiovascular and thoracic imaging technology will support the need for ultra-premium cardiac and lung CT in the region.

“For patients in need of cardiovascular and cardiothoracic imaging, the SpotLight Duo is the first dedicated cardiothoracic CT incorporating all of Arineta’s patient centric technologies,” Ryan said. “With one heartbeat, we can provide both high-temporal and  iso-temporal resolution images that can be used for comprehensive cardiac and thoracic CT assessment. At the same time, we are reducing radiation and contrast for scans while delivering more detailed and accurate images for better informed decision-making by physicians.”

Arineta is an Israeli company that develops and produces cardiovascular imaging solutions. It is dedicated to growing cardiac CT as the front-line non-invasive test for diagnosing, therapy planning and monitoring of cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death and costs for healthcare worldwide. Arineta’s flagship product, SpotLight Duo, is the world’s first dedicated single-heartbeat, whole-heart cardiovascular and thoracic CT, based on the company’s proprietary Stereo CT technology. Among Arineta’s scientists are the inventors of the multi-slice spiral CT technology, still the cornerstone of CT imaging, and several other key technologies.
