Argo and R&D Leverage are Bullish on New Collaboration

The United Kingdom-based branch of R&D/Leverage and Argo S.A. report initial positive results of the firms’ recent collaboration.

Argo is a single-source plastic packaging solutions provider that serves customers in more than 30 countries throughout southern and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. R&D/Leverage is a full-service industrial design house specializing in consumer packaging.

The two firms have successfully completed initial assignments for customers in three market sectors: personal care, healthcare and crop protection products.

“Argo is truly satisfied with our initial collaborations with R&D/Leverage—the quality of the moulds delivered was superb, and delivered on schedule,” said Argo’s General Director George Stassinopoulos.

In addition to its base in Greece, Argo operates production facilities Romania and Egypt. The company’s list of services includes extrusion, blow molding, injection blow molding, injection stretch blow molding, printing/labeling and assembly. The company delivers products such as bottles, closures, canisters, dosing systems, tubes and jars.

Alan Tolley, managing director of R&D/Leverage U.K., attributed the relationship’s initial success, in part, to his firm’s Lean manufacturing processes.

“We look forward to further ventures with Argo, a company that shares our dedication to innovative plastic packaging solutions that help build brands and enhance supply chain efficiencies for customers in Europe, and beyond,” Tolley said.

As a result of accelerated demand throughout Europe for single-stage PET tooling, R&D/Leverage U.K. has expanded its manufacturing capacity 40 percent in the last year, Tolley reported.

The company also has installed another stretch blow molding machine in its Product Solutions Laboratory (PSL).“The PSL includes in-house training modules and the capability to provide first-to-market samples, so we can now qualify almost any product including extreme shapes and extreme specifications in-house,” Tolley added.

R&D-Leverage is based in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
