Anumana, an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven healthtech company, began a collaboration with AliveCor to develop Anumana’s advanced AI algorithms for early cardiac disease detection on AliveCor’s Kardia ECG devices. This will begin with Anumana’s FDA-cleared ECG-AI LEF algorithm.

The company’s ECG-AI platform features a suite of algorithms to detect cardiovascular diseases that are tough to spot without expensive, invasive, or difficult-to-access clinical tests. The partnership with AliveCor aims to leverage the ECG-AI LEF algorithms to help identify cardiac conditions earlier.

AliveCor launched its Kardia 12L ECG system for healthcare professionals in June 2024. According to the company, it contains the world’s first AI that can spot life-threatening cardiac conditions, including heart attacks, using a reduced leadset.

The ECG-AI LEF algorithm won U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance in 2023. It uses routine 12-lead ECG data to spot LEF, an underdiagnosed indicator of heart failure. It was recently included in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) 2025 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System final rule.

“AliveCor is already at the forefront of AI in cardiology, transforming the industry with clinically validated solutions that disrupt traditional care pathways to create a more connected, holistic cardiac health ecosystem—like the recently FDA-cleared Kardia 12L ECG System,” said Sanjay Voleti, chief business officer at AliveCor. “This collaboration with Anumana will further strengthen our leadership in AI by expanding our solutions’ ability to facilitate more personalized and timely care across diverse healthcare settings.”

“Together with AliveCor, we are reshaping the future of cardiac care by unlocking new possibilities for early detection and intervention,” added David McMullin, chief business officer at Anumana. “This collaboration demonstrates Anumana’s commitment to harnessing the potential of AI to expand the utility of ECG technology, making traditional diagnostic tools more powerful for patients and clinicians.”
