Alexandria Industries Names New Director of Business Development

New director has worked with Alexandria in the past.

Alexandria Industries has appointed Tom Jensen as its new director of business development.

Jensen has extensive experience in aluminum extrusions, secondary machining, finishing operations, sales and business management. He previously directed his own renewable-energy company that developed and globally marketed an extruded aluminum- and steel-based racking solution.

Prior to his renewable-energy venture, he worked with Alexandria Industries as a manufacturing representative in the Western United States, and as a market sales leader for the company’s durable medical equipment business. In addition to those roles, he was an original member of the company’s multifunctional quick response manufacturing (QRM) and quick response office cell teams. That hands-on, QRM experience gives him perspectives on how customers can partner with component suppliers to minimize lead times, lower costs, and improve final product quality, company executives claim.

“‘People making a difference’ is at the core of our values,” said Tom Schabel, CEO of Alexandria Industries. “Jensen’s deep industry experience is complemented by his integrity, leadership, and customer-focused passion. Adding him to our team illustrates our commitment to helping customers—both current and future—succeed.”

Jensen is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He will be located in Denver, Colo.

Alexandria Industries specializes in customized aluminum extrusions, precision machining of ferrous and non-ferrous products, heatsinks, plastic injection and foam molding components, and welding and assembly services. The company is headquartered in Alexandria, Minn., with manufacturing locations in Minnesota, Indiana and Texas.
