3M to Acquire Abzil Industria e Comerci

3M has entered an agreement to acquire Abzil Industria e Comercio, a manufacturer of orthodontic products based in Brazil. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. 3M said it delivers more than 14,000 orthodontic products and solutions worldwide, adding that complementary acquisitions such as this support its strategy to expand into fast-growing geographic markets. Abzil employs approximately 300 people at its operations in Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter, subject to customary closing conditions, 3M said. SOURCE: FDA News
