Boston Centerless Expands With Facility in Minnesota

Woburn, Mass.-based Boston Centerless has opened a distribution facility in Minnesota to, according to the company, “better serve customers in the greater Midwest.”

Delivery time to customers in that area will be reduced by as much as four days, officials noted. The new facility, located in Minneapolis, will service customers in the central United States. It will stock a variety of sizes and grades of AccuRod.0002TM precision ground bar product and Carpenter’s Project 70+ PDB stainless steel. These materials are used for CNC Swiss screw machining applications.

Materials are machine-ready and available for immediate shipment. In addition to AccuRod.0002 and Project 70+ PDB, the warehouse will stock nominal sizes of 17-4 and 17-4 PH900 stainless along with Ti 6AL4V ELI titanium and various other medical grade alloys.

With the competitive landscape of manufacturing, companies need to receive material as quickly as possible, according to the Steven Tamasi, the company’s CEO.

“This new distribution center is an integral part of our continued growth,” Tamasi said. “By opening up facilities closer to our customers, we will be in a position to decrease lead-times and serve our customers more efficiently.”

A second distribution facility is located in New England in addition to the corporate headquarters in Woburn, which also stocks an array of metals and plastics. Boston Centerless supplies customers with precision-ground bar materials for close tolerance machining applications.
