QT Imaging Holdings Inc. has released version 4.5.0 of its image reconstruction software, introducing enhanced spatial resolution in reflection imaging through optimized, spatially varying deconvolution. The update improves the accuracy of image representation during reflection image reconstruction while maintaining efficient processing performance, according to the company.

Version 4.5.0 also introduces enhanced reflection images generated through the fusion of sound speed and reflection data, providing clinicians and researchers with improved visualization and more comprehensive tissue characterization information. These enhancements aim to improve image interpretation and support comprehensive and reproducible analysis across a wide range of cases.

“The enhanced reflection images represent a meaningful improvement in image quality and usability. Combining reflection with speed of sound information provides additional insight that was not previously available from reflection imaging alone,” said QT Imaging customer Dr. John Tentinger, president and CEO at Innovative Radiology in West Des Moines, Iowa.

The 4.5.0 release includes improved image reconstruction for small breasts and the implementation of more accurate fibroglandular tissue composition assessment in breasts with implants, addressing important clinical scenarios and expanding the software’s usability across a broader patient anatomy range.

“Building on our multimodal imaging approach, we are advancing the development of attenuation as an additional quantitative biomarker, to complement speed of sound and reflection intensity. The integration of attenuation is expected to further enhance tissue characterization capabilities and provide clinicians and researchers with additional quantitative information for improved analysis and decision support,” QT Imaging Fellow Dr. James Wiskin stated.
