MasterControl’s Revenue Chief is Named CEO

MasterControl has chosen its next leader from within its ranks, appointing Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) David Edwards as CEO, effective immediately. Edwards succeeds Jon Beckstrand, who led the company for a quarter century and now assumes the role of board chair.

Former Board Chairman Richard Beckstrand will shift to a board member role. He’s led the governing body for nearly 30 years.

“David is an amazing leader and exactly the right person to lead MasterControl through this next phase,” Jon Beckstrand said. “I am excited to continue to be involved with MasterControl as board chair and look forward  to helping our customers bring products to more people sooner.”

Edwards has more than 20 years of leadership experience in sales, manufacturing, and software. Since joining MasterControl in 2017, he has worked closely with customers to expand their use of the company’s solutions. Edwards had been CRO since 2021.

Before joining MasterControl, Edwards was chief operating officer and vice president of Business Development at 3form, a designer and manufacturer of architectural materials. Earlier in his career, he worked at Danaher Corporation as marketing manager and manufacturing manager. He began his professional journey as a project manager at TenFold Corporation.

Edwards earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor of science degree in economics from the University of Utah. He is based in Salt Lake City.
