Owlet Inc. has officially launched its medically-certified Dream Sock in South Africa. Distributed as a Class C Medical Device with CE Marking, this product enables parents to track their infant’s live vital signs and receive real-time health notifications.

Designed for healthy babies between 0 and 18 months (2.5-13.6 kg), Dream Sock is a tool for families worldwide to monitor physiological parameters. Using advanced, hospital-grade technology, Dream Sock tracks a baby’s pulse rate, oxygen level, and sleep patterns, sending live readings to the Owlet Dream App (available via iOS and Android) and the included Base Station. If a baby’s readings fall outside of preset zones, parents receive notifications so they can respond quickly.

“With the launch of Dream Sock as a pediatric medical device in South Africa, we’re taking another important step toward our vision of reaching every family with Owlet’s life-changing technology,” Owlet President Jonathan Harris said. “As we expand into more countries, we’re making hospital-grade monitoring accessible to more parents than ever before, empowering them with the real-time insights they need to care for their little ones.”

While monitoring live vitals, parents also have access to their baby’s health readings history and sleep patterns in the Owlet Dream App. The Owlet Dream App also features Predictive Sleep Technology, a tool that learns a baby’s past sleep patterns to recommend the best nap and bedtime windows, taking the guesswork out of daily routines. Available as Dream Duo, Dream Sock pairs seamlessly with Owlet Cam 2, giving caregivers HD video and audio access to a baby from anywhere, plus motion and sound notifications.

Dream Sock has been recognized internationally for its precision and reliability, meeting medical device standards in multiple markets across several continents. It is comfortable for babies, discreet under sleepwear, and effective even during gentle movement and across all skin tones.

Dream Sock is NAPPI coded, allowing eligible consumers to claim reimbursement from their medical aid when purchased through a pharmacy or healthcare provider (subject to applicable terms and conditions).

Owlet’s is a small-cap healthcare growth equity, offering U.S. Food and Drug Administration-cleared medical and consumer pediatric wearables and an integrated HD visual and audio camera that provides real-time data and insights to parents.

Since 2012, more than 2 million parents worldwide have used Owlet’s platform, contributing to one of the largest collections of consumer infant health and sleep data. The company continues to develop software and digital data solutions to bridge the current healthcare gap between hospital and home and bring new insights to parents and caregivers globally.
