Philips has begun a strategic partnership with safety security and solutions partner Securitas and Medic Assist, a global service provider specializing in automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The trio aims to integrate Philips AEDs into Securitas’ guarding and security solutions.

This partnership will allow Securitas’ security personnel that are trained in CPR and AED use to respond quicky and effectively to sudden cardiac arrests. Securitas hopes to provide clients and their communities with more “heart-safe” places, where lifesaving help is within reach.

Embedding connected Philips AEDs into Securitas’ global security offering offers a connected and monitored AED-as-a-service model. This ensures AEDs are correctly maintained, ready to use, and supported by trained personnel.

The goal is two-fold: improve survival chances during cardiac emergencies and raise awareness of CPR and early defibrillation’s importance.

“At Securitas, nothing is more important than safeguarding the people and assets of our clients. Adding AEDs to our guarding solutions means we are better prepared to respond in those critical first minutes of a sudden cardiac arrest,” said Kim Høyberg Andersen, VP of global clients sales at Securitas. “Equipping our people with both the right training and the right tools can make all the difference when every second counts. We are proud to bring this additional layer of safety to our clients around the world. Together, Philips, Securitas and Medic Assist want to set a new standard for workplace safety.”

Philips AEDs are designed to be simple, reliable, and connected, automatically alerting if maintenance is needed.

“It is estimated that 15% of all out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in the workplace. And when that happens every second counts” said Agnieszka Romero, Head of Emergency Care EMEAI at Philips. “By creating meaningful partnerships, we can bring better care to more people not only through life-saving technology, but also by empowering those on the frontline to act with confidence. We are excited about how this partnership with Medic Assist and Securitas will help making workplaces and communities across the world more heart-safe.”

“By combining the trusted Philips AED with our unique remote monitoring, purpose-built cabinet, financing, and services, this three-way collaboration delivers a truly 360-degree solution,” added Sven de Waal, VP global sales at Medic Assist. “This approach takes away many of the operational concerns for our customers and ensures maximum efficiency and reliability for their AED programs.”
