Cleerly Announces Key Leadership Promotions

Cleerly has promoted two key executives to expanded leadership roles: Udo Hoffmann, M.D., is the company’s new chief Medical, Scientific and AI officer while Amit Relia is chief regulatory officer.

Dr. Hoffmann joined Cleerly in 2022 as chief scientific officer and will now oversee scientific affairs, medical affairs, core laboratory, data science/AI, and regulatory and quality departments in his expanded role.

Before he was hired at Cleerly, Dr. Hoffmann was professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School, chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Imaging at the Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and was the founding director of the MGH Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center. He led landmark National Institutes of Health clinical trials, including ROMICAT I and II, PROMISE, and REPRIEVE; his work has resulted in more than 600 peer-reviewed publications in such journals as the New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet.

Relia joined Cleerly last year as vice president of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance and will now help shape regulatory strategy as Cleerly expands. Prior to Cleerly, Relia led regulatory initiatives at iRhythm Technologies for AI/ML cardiac devices, guided global regulatory strategy for ECG-based software at Apple Health launching in 47 countries, and influenced landmark clearances for surgical robotic devices at Intuitive Surgical. Relia has consistently ensured robust regulatory compliance frameworks at the companies in which he worked, laying the groundwork for growth and technological breakthroughs.
