The SINC Fund is investing in Endiatx Inc., a Silicon Valley firm that has developed an investigational robotic capsule for navigating and filming the stomach during gastrointestinal procedures.

The company’s flagship product, PillBot, is a swallowable, single-use robotic capsule that can actively swim through the stomach while transmitting real-time, high-resolution video. Unlike traditional endoscopy procedures, which typically requires sedation, hospital infrastructure, and in-person specialists, PillBot can be operated remotely, offering a more comfortable, accessible alternative for patients.

“PillBot, if cleared by FDA, would represent a major step forward in GI diagnostics,” said S.D. Schwaitzberg, M.D., chair of the SINC Fund Investment Committee. “This technology has the potential to reduce the burden of traditional endoscopy by providing an easier and less invasive way to evaluate the stomach. We’re excited to support Endiatx as they work to bring this innovation into clinical practice.”

The SINC Fund was launched to allow SAGES members and others to invest in a venture fund with a portfolio of startups primarily in the gastrointestinal (GI)/GI surgery space. The investment in Endiatx supports SAGES Ingenuity’s mission to foster forward-thinking technologies that improve patient outcomes and expand access to minimally invasive care. The venture capital fund is sponsored by SAGES Ingenuity Inc. , a for-profit entity formed to invest in and accelerate innovation, and Varia Ventures Management Company LLC.

“This investment from the SINC Fund is an important milestone for Endiatx,” Endiatx CEO Arman Nadershahi stated. “Millions of people each year experience discomfort, delays, or even missed diagnoses due to the limitations of conventional endoscopy. PillBot is designed to change that as we work towards making GI screening and diagnostics faster, simpler, less costly, and more comfortable. With the support of leaders like SAGES, we’re accelerating the path toward a more patient-friendly and efficient model of care.”

The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) is a surgical society representing more than 7,000 surgeons who bring minimal access surgery and emerging techniques to patients worldwide. SAGES’ innovates, educates, and collaborates to improve patient care, with a vision of reimagining surgical care for a healthier world.

Varia Ventures is a venture capital firm that partners with leading medical societies and expert communities to manage targeted investment funds that accelerate innovation in their fields.

Endiatx is a medical robotics company developing ultra-miniature, actively controlled devices for use inside the human body. Its flagship product, PillBot, is an investigational swimming robotic capsule designed to enable real-time remote visualization of the stomach and to offer a more efficient, comfortable, and scalable approach to GI diagnostics.
