Elekta has appointed Jakob Just-Bomholt as its new chief executive officer (CEO). Just-Bomholt will join the company in August, working closely with current acting CEO Jonas Bolander and the management team to transition into his role.

He was most recently CEO of 3Shape, a Danish company specializing in 3D scanning and CAD/CAM software for the dental industry. Prior to that, he was a senior executive at Falck A/S and A/P Moller Maersk.

“We are delighted to welcome Jakob Just-Bomholt to Elekta,” said Dr. Laurent Leksell, Elekta’s founder and chairman. “His strategic leadership and international experience, combined with a proven ability to drive profitable growth and global expansion through customer-focused innovation and operational excellence, make him very well-suited to lead Elekta forward. The Board is confident in Jakob’s ability to guide the company into its next chapter and deliver value to our shareholders, customers, and the cancer patients we serve around the world.”

“I am honored to join Elekta, a company with a proud legacy and a powerful mission to improve the lives of people with cancer,” added Just-Bomholt. “Radiation therapy plays a vital role in modern oncology, and I look forward to working with the talented team at Elekta to continue delivering life-changing solutions to patients around the world. Elekta holds a strong market position, industry leading product portfolio, and considerable growth potential. I look forward to guiding the company in delivering long-term value for all our stakeholders.”
