Cirtec Medical, an outsource partner for end-to-end medical device design, development, and manufacturing services, is over doubling its Costa Rica operations.

The expansion will offer enhanced manufacturing capabilities and increased capacity to support their neuromodulation, interventional, electrophysiology and structural heart markets.

The new facility is located next to Cirtec’s existing operation in the Coyol Free Zone. It will offer manufacturing solutions from neurostimulation leads, extrusion, braiding and coil winding to finished device assembly and packaging.

The company’s Costa Rica operations leverage cost-effective labor, skilled talent, and lean manufacturing processes to offer faster, more cost-efficient, high-value transfers for customers. Additionally, this expansion reinforces Cirtec’s commitment to economic growth in the region, creating job opportunities for Costa Rica’s highly skilled workforce.

“Costa Rica has become a critical hub for high-quality, efficient medical device manufacturing, and this 50,000 plus square foot expansion allows us to offer our customers even greater value,” said Brian Highley, CEO of Cirtec Medical. “This growth enables us to support increased demand by accelerating time-to-market, optimizing costs and broadening our manufacturing offerings in the industry. Our Costa Rica site enables our customers to scale efficiently while maintaining quality.”

“The expansion of Cirtec Medical highlights the role of foreign direct investment as a key driver of productive sophistication and capability transfers in Costa Rica. Strategic decisions like these reflect investor confidence in our institutional framework, our investment promotion policy, and the country’s stability to support the scale-up of complex global operations. From COMEX, we will continue advancing an investment agenda that boosts dynamic sectors and contributes to Costa Rica’s sustainable development,” said Manuel Tovar, Minister of Foreign Trade.
