Biolinq Secures $100M Series C Funding for Biosensor Patch

Biolinq, a company pioneering precision, multi-analyte sensors to improve metabolic health, has received a $100 million Series C financing led by Alpha Wave Ventures. Participation also occurred from existing investors RiverVest Venture Partners, AXA IM Alts, LifeSci Venture Partners, M Ventures, Hikma Ventures, Aphelion Capital, Taisho Pharmaceutical and Features Capital.

This funding will support Biolinq’s U.S. regulatory approval process as it prepares to bring the first autonomous intradermal glucose sensor to market. The company’s initial product is a wearable biosensor powered by tiny electrochemical sensors that continuously measure glucose levels right beneath the skin’s surface.

The glucose sensor patch is placed on the upper forearm. It features a color-changing indicator light for real-time feedback to remain informed of glucose excursions. The first-generation glucose sensor, according to Biolinq, was designed for ease of use and reliability, using a biosensing platform that allows future multi-analyte sensing abilities.

“This financing will bolster Biolinq’s commercial readiness efforts while we pursue regulatory approval for the first intradermal glucose sensor that incorporates activity and sleep information into a single wearable device,” said Biolinq CEO Rich Yang. “Our team has spent the last decade developing a biosensor platform designed to inspire healthier living by providing context around a person’s metabolic health.”
