The Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation and Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership (NEI) have launched the MedTech Global Gateway, a transformative initiative designed to support and accelerate international medtech companies entering the U.S. healthcare market.

The MedTech Global Gateway will make it easier for Northeast Indiana to welcome into its ecosystem global innovators specializing in musculoskeletal care, orthopedic devices, medical wearable technologies, regenerative medicine, telemedicine, minimally invasive surgery technologies, and 3D and bioprinting for medical applications.

“The MedTech Global Gateway builds upon Northeast Indiana’s legacy of medtech innovation by providing international companies with access to a network of research facilities, industry expertise, and business acceleration resources,” said Dr. Michael Mirro, chief academic research officer, Parkview Health. “By leveraging our established healthcare ecosystem and relationships across the U.S., we’re enabling global MedTech leaders to seamlessly integrate, scale, and thrive in the U.S. market.”

The Parkview Mirro Center works with startups in many ways, including clinical viability testing, pilot studies, research studies, UX design and work, U.S. Food and Drug Administration human factors testing, co-development, and more.

With over 100 medical device and technology companies generating more than $19 billion annually in medical device revenue, Northeast Indiana is a major medtech innovation hub, according to both organizations. The region’s industry base and deep talent pool make it an ideal launchpad for international companies seeking to expand in the United States.

“Our region plays a critical role in global medtech development, and the Gateway is a strategic extension of our efforts to build strong international partnerships,” NEI President/CEO Stéphane Frijia said. “We are fostering meaningful connections with medtech clusters worldwide, ensuring that companies entering the U.S. market gain access to talent, resources, and strategic collaborations that accelerate their growth and impact.”

Applications are now open for medtech companies ready to expand their U.S. presence. Interested companies are encouraged to apply or seek additional information by visiting MedTechNEI.com or contacting the MedTech Global Gateway team directly at [email protected].

As one of the few research and innovation centers in the United States affiliated with a not-for-profit community health system, the Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation seeks to encourage collaboration among clinicians, non-clinicians, and research participants and to create an environment that nurtures creativity, leverages innovation, and builds inter-professional research teams—while keeping the needs of research participants and community at the center of every activity.

The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership’s mission is to drive business investment and strengthen the region’s global competitiveness and economic resiliency. Founded in 2006, NEI is a public-private partnership with approximately 140 investors. It represents the 11 counties of Northeast Indiana and convenes economic development partners across the public, private and academic sectors to collaborate and focus on sustaining a business-friendly environment.
