Philips announced that its Radiology Operations Command Center Console has received EU MDR certification for remote scanning capability.

The vendor-agnostic, multi-modality imaging solution can be used with multiple vendor MR, CT, or PET-CT configurations. It connects imaging experts in a command center with technologists at scan locations across their organization.

The remote scanning capabilities let users edit MR, CT, or PET-CT scanner consoles in real-time, from any location, Philips said. They can share expertise via on-demand chat, voice, and video collaboration without compromising privacy, safety, or security.

“With the Radiology Operations Command Center, we can support multiple locations in real time. We utilize the expertise in our Command Center to ensure that every site has access to it. This helps us to improve efficiency and maintain the same level of care at all facilities,” shared Martina Salomon, MR application specialist, at Med360°, Leverkusen, Germany.

“Healthcare providers are increasingly confronted with the challenge of not having enough skilled technologists to meet the demand for patient imaging exams, particularly for more complex exams such as cardiac MR,” said Shez Partovi, Business Leader Enterprise Informatics at Philips. “With Radiology Operations Command Center Console’s remote scanning capability, we are further empowering clinicians to deliver the timely diagnosis that patients deserve and helping to deliver better care for more patients.”

Earlier this month, the company released new software for its EPIQ Elite and Affiniti ultrasound imaging platforms. Philips said the update addresses the need for faster workflows and more efficient diagnostic processes.
