Verasonics Inc. has received a U.S. patent that protects the transceiver design used in the company’s Vantage NXT Research Ultrasound System.

U.S. patent number 12,089,991, “Ultrasound Transmitter with Low Distortion and Concurrent Receive,” covers an ultrasonic transceiver design that an ultrasonic transceiver design provides the ability to transmit high power and high frequency arbitrary waveforms with low image distortion, and enables the concurrent receiving and monitoring of the transmit signal through the receiver during the transmit period. This is one of many Verasonics patents issued worldwide covering 10 technologies.

Vantage NXT is the successor to Verasonics’ Vantage Research Ultrasound System. The company is filing for protection in several key territories worldwide.

“We are incredibly proud to have secured this patent for one of our core technologies,” Verasonics President/CEO Jon K. Daigle said. “Our high-fidelity transceiver technology in Vantage NXT overcomes many of the deficiencies of conventional transceivers and opens new research application areas for our customers to explore in high frequency, signal coding, and more.”

Verasonics is a privately held company founded in 2001, with headquarters in Kirkland, Wash. A developer of research ultrasound, the company provides researchers and developers with advanced and flexible tools enabling them to develop new algorithms and products used in biomedical ultrasound, materials science, earth sciences, and the physics of acoustics and ultrasonics. Verasonics also licenses its technology to companies for use in their commercial products. Researchers in countries throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia and Oceania routinely use Verasonics product solutions to advance the art and science of ultrasound through their own research efforts.
