The 2024 Australian Good Design Awards named OSAA Innovation, a Copenhagen-based medtech company, as a Gold Winner with its novelty product iV-GO, the world’s first portable 100% mechanical IV-pump.

The iV-GO received the Good Design Award Gold Winner Accolade in the Product Design category for exceptional design and innovation.

iV-GO is a 100% mechanical IV-pump, designed by OSAA Innovation, to improve the IV treatment experience for patients and enhance treatment workflows for healthcare institutions. It prioritizes patient mobility, allowing individuals to move freely during their IV treatments, leading to greater comfort and independence.

The 2024 Australian Good Design Awards were unveiled, showcasing the pinnacle of design excellence in a grand ceremony at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney. This year’s entries were rigorously evaluated by more than 80 distinguished Jurors from around the globe, including designers, engineers, architects, and industry leaders.

This year’s Awards theme, “The Design Effect” underscored the crucial role design plays in shaping better products, services, spaces, and experiences while driving the transition to a more sustainable future. The Australian Good Design Awards highlighted how design not only enhances functionality and aesthetics but also contributes significantly to business success and societal advancement.

“We are extremely honoured that iV-GO—world’s first portable 100% mechanical IV-pump –  received the Good Design Award Gold Winner Accolade in the Product Design category for its exceptional design and innovation,” states Ahmed Hessam, CEO & Founder of OSAA Innovation. This recognition underscores our commitment to advancing the medical technology and healthcare industry. It speaks to the significant efforts the OSAA team has made to develop patient-centered IV treatment solutions that enhance patient safety and treatment experience, while paving the way to a brighter future for healthcare professionals.”

The iV-GO is a portable unit that frees up valuable space in hospitals but also empowers patients to receive treatment on the go as well as in alternative settings, reducing feelings of confinement, and promoting mental well-being and faster recovery. With approximately 90% of hospital in-patients receiving IV treatment, this innovative device is seen to become a game-changer in the healthcare industry.

Rachel Wye, Managing Director of Good Design Australia, stated, “this year’s Awards reflect the profound ripple effects that exceptional design can have on people, place and planet. The projects honoured in these Awards exemplify how thoughtful design can drive meaningful change, not only enhancing user experiences and the way people interact with the world, but also contributing to a more sustainable and more prosperous future. The Australian Good Design Awards are proud to recognise the truly inspirational work that is being done across different design disciplines, sectors and industries in Australia and overseas.”
