GE Healthcare unveiled its next-gen Voluson Expert 22 ultrasound, the latest addition to its women’s health portfolio.

The new ultrasound machine uses graphic-based beam former technology to produce higher quality images and offer more flexibility in imaging functions. AI-powered tools help make exams more consistent and decrease the number of tasks. Voluson Expert 22 also includes customizable touch panels, color, and lighting options.

Lyric Architecture generates new levels of penetration, resolution, and frame rates to reveal fine anatomy in 2D/3D/4D and offers uniformity throughout the image with boosted spatial and contrast resolution.

Voluson’s 23.8-inch, high-definition ultrasound display offers three image sizes, including full screen images. AI-powered tools include SonoLyst to identify fetal anatomy seen on standard views and adding annotations and measurements. SonoPelvicFloor automates plane alignment and measurements, and SonoCNS aligns and displays recommended fetal brain views and measurements from a 3D volume.

“Technology continues to move obstetrics and gynecology forward, but there is a delicate balance between using technology to enhance medical care and the human role in medicine” Gerald Seifriedsberger, General Manager, Women’s Health for GE Healthcare told the press. “We are incredibly proud to build on our legacy of innovation in women’s health with the introduction of the Voluson Expert 22, and deliver advanced ultrasound imaging at the point of care that allows for more shared decision-making between clinician and patient.
