India’s POC Analyzers Market to Grow Fastest in APAC Region

India’s point-of-care (POC) Analyzers market is expected to be the fastest-growing analyzers market in the Asia-Pacific region, followed by South Korea and China, and is estimated to be worth $70 million by 2030, according to GlobalData. The growth will be driven by the increasing adoption of molecular diagnostics, an aging population, and a growing disease burden.
 
POC testing, also known as bedside testing, near-patient testing, remote testing, and mobile testing, is performed outside of a laboratory setting to facilitate rapid diagnosis at a low cost compared to conventional diagnostic tests, resulting in timely treatment, especially in resource-limited rural areas.
 
“Owing to the highly-dense rural population and lack of sufficient high-end, automated, and expensive diagnostic instruments in India, there is a need for affordable, accessible, and efficient testing,” said Shachee Singh, a medical devices analyst at GlobalData. “The increased availability of POC diagnostic devices is expected to fulfil this requirement.”
 
The Indian government’s commitment to combat diseases such as HIV and tuberculosis, and strong demand for routine diagnostic procedures such as complete blood count, coagulation analysis, and blood glucose tests are also contributing to the growth of the POC Analyzers market.
