Oliver Bisazza Named Next CEO at MedTech Europe

Bisazza will replace current chief executive Serge Bernasconi upon his retirement on Jan. 2.

MedTech Europe’s board has appointed Oliver Bisazza as its new CEO, effective Jan. 2. He succeeds Serge Bernasconi, who is retiring after leading the organization for 10 years; Bernasconi will remain in his position for the next two and a half months.

“We are thankful to Serge for his engagement, leadership, successes, development and transformation of MedTech Europe over the last 10 years. He leaves behind a strong, very professional and highly respected organisation. We wish him the best for his well-deserved retirement. We are very pleased that Oliver Bisazza has accepted the position of CEO of MedTech Europe. He has a broad and quite unique experience, from both the industry and different trade associations, as well as a solid knowledge of the key dossiers we are involved with and of the EU institutions, which we believe will be very valuable for our organisation and industry,” said MedTech Europe Board Chairman Rob ten Hoedt said.
 
Oliver Bisazza is currently director General Industrial Policies and External Affairs at MedTech Europe. He is an Australian-Maltese national with 15 years of professional experience in Brussels, with approximately 10 of those years spent in industrial policies roles in trade associations representing the medical technology and other industries. Prior to joining MedTech Europe in 2017, he worked at Medtronic plc as director of Regulatory Policy for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

MedTech Europe is the European trade association for the medical technology industry including diagnostics, medical devices and digital health. Its members are national, European, and multinational companies as well as a network of national medical technology associations that research, develop, manufacture, distribute and supply health-related technologies, services and solutions.
