FDA OKs Enhancements to Haemonetics’ NexSys PCS Plasma Collection

Haemonetics has earned U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for advancements to its NexSys PCS plasma collection system, which include a new plasma collection bowl with a new, performance-optimizing design, and new Express Plus tech to reduce procedure time.
 
Thanks to the latest advancements, Haemonetics anticipates an average 33- to 38-minute procedure time using the standard FDA nomogram, helping to achieve more plasma center efficiency and lower costs to collect.
 
NexSys PCS is bi-directionally connected with NexLynk DMS donor management software reduces donor door-to-door time by 16 minutes on average, with much of the portion of this improvement happening pre- and post-procedure. Further, Persona technology delivers an average 9 to 12% additional plasma yield by personalizing each collection to individual donor characteristics.
 
Haemonetics aims to initially release NexSys PCS with the new bowl and Express Plus tech over the coming months.
