M&A and regulatory news dominated MPO site traffic this past week. 

The latest deal tidings came from Henry Schein and Coloplast; the former bought Regional Health Care Group Pty. Ltd., a medical products distribution company serving public and private sector customers in Australia and New Zealand, while the latter began an upfront cash deal to acquire Kerecis for up to $1.3 billion. Kerecis has engineered and patented a sustainable, scalable tech platform based on fish skin.

Regulatory-related reports of interest to cybervisitors included a Class I recall from J&J subsidiary Ethicon and Neuronetics’ certfication in two enhanced compliance programs. The recall involves 21,200 of Megadyne’s (an Ethicon brand) MEGA 2000 and MEGA soft reusable patient return electrodes distributed between March 11, 2021, and May 9, 2023. The electrodes are soft pads used during electrosurgery and are being pulled from the market over burn injury reports.  

While not as strong a pageview reaper as the recall, Neuronetics nevertheless garnered MPO loyalists’ attention with CE Mark Certification for NeuroStar Advanced Therapy under the new EU Medical Device Regulation and the Medical Device Single Audit Program certification.

Fresenius Medical Care also impacted traffic with its latest hire, a former finance executive from Siemens Healthineers.
