Motus GI Appoints CEO

Motus GI Holdings Inc., has announced that Timothy P. Moran is now CEO and a member of the Board of Directors. Moran joins Motus GI from ConvaTec Group Plc, where he has served as president of the Americas since 2015. Mark Pomeranz, who has served as Motus GI’s CEO since 2014, has assumed the role of president and chief operating officer, and remains on the Board of Directors.

Moran is a seasoned commercial and operating executive with experience in both large publicly-traded and private equity-backed companies. He has established a reputation as an authentic leader with the ability to set clear organizational vision while ensuring an optimal balance between strategy and execution. Moran became president of the Americas at ConvaTec, an international medical products and technologies company headquartered in the United Kingdom and was part of its Executive Committee that took the company through its initial public offering (IPO) in 2016. While at ConvaTec, Moran led the strategic design and reorganization of the America’s Region, installing a new leadership team, and championing culture transformation to the organization. Prior to ConvaTec, Moran spent 18 years at Covidien, and held a number of roles with increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and general management. From 2010 to 2015, he served simultaneously as vice president and general manager of both the SharpSafety and Monitoring & Operating Room divisions, which had combined revenues of over $600 million at the end of his tenure. Following the 2015 acquisition of Covidien by Medtronic, Moran was named vice president and general manager of the Patient Care and Safety division, a global business generating over $1 billion in revenue at the time he left to join ConvaTec. Moran also serves as a member of the CEO Advisory Council for the Advanced Medical Technology Association.

Motus GI Holdings Inc. is a medical technology company, with subsidiaries in the United States and Israel, dedicated to improving clinical outcomes and enhancing the cost-efficiency of colonoscopy. Motus GI believes the Pure-Vu System may improve outcomes and lower costs for hospitals by reducing the time to successful colonoscopy, minimizing delayed and aborted procedures, and improving the quality of an exam. In clinical studies to date, the Pure-Vu System significantly increased the number of patients with an adequate cleansing level, according to the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale Score, a validated assessment instrument.
