Vizient Launches Ediom, a Cognitive Computing and Data Science Company for Healthcare

Vizient Inc. has formed Ediom LLC, a cognitive computing and data science company solely focused on the needs of the healthcare industry. Vizient formed this new company with Anita Pramoda, founder of Owned Outcomes Inc. and former chief financial officer at Epic Systems. Ediom will utilize its proprietary cognitive computing platform to provide software and analytic solutions for Big Health data challenges across the provider, supplier, and payor end markets.
 
“The health care industry is creating data at an unprecedented rate, yet there is a need by all health care stakeholders to personalize that data,” said Pramoda, co-founder and CEO of Ediom. “Providers treat one patient at a time and we must do the same by developing software solutions that can search through mountains of data and find what is uniquely impactful to each patient.”
 
Vizient has begun to embed cognitive methods in its supply analytics solutions through enhanced supply chain data and clinical value analysis. Now, Ediom’s capabilities will further boost the company’s ability to analyze increasingly critical work closer to the point of care and to patients.
