Katena Products Acquires Eagle Vision

Katena Products Inc., a global provider of precision ophthalmic instruments, biologics, and devices to hospitals, surgical centers, and ophthalmic and optometric offices, has purchased Eagle Vision, a provider of punctal plugs. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
 
Founded more than 30 years ago by Dr. Jerre Freeman, Eagle Vision has become a market leader in the punctal plug product sector. These plugs, along with other ancillary devices, are primarily used in the treatment of dry eye syndrome, by both ophthalmologists and optometrists in the United States and globally.
 
“The acquisition of the Eagle Vision product line is the second important addition to Katena’s product portfolio in 2016, as we continue to build out our product offerings in the ophthalmic and optometric call points,” said Bill Friedberg, CEO of Katena Products. “We look forward to be of greater clinical value to our customers, with both organic growth of our existing product lines and through additional acquisitions.”
