Ethicon Launches ENSEAL X1 Large Jaw Tissue Sealer

Ethicon launched the ENSEAL X1 Large Jaw Tissue Sealer, the first in a new generation of ENSEAL devices. In preclinical testing, ENSEAL X1 Large Jaw Tissue Sealer has shown improved sealing over LigaSure Impact through less bleeding¹, less thermal spread² and better ergonomics³. The device is a demonstration of Ethicon’s commitment to improving the surgeon experience and is designed to meet the demands of open procedures such as colectomies and hysterectomies.
 
The ENSEAL X1 Large Jaw Tissue Sealer was carefully designed to enhance surgeons’ efficiency and comfort and is indicated for use in open general, gynecologic, urologic, thoracic, and vascular procedures by offering better hemostasis, better tissue management, and better ergonomics. With a larger distal electrode surface area⁴, powered by the Ethicon generator with Adaptive Tissue Technology, the ENSEAL X1 Large Jaw Tissue Sealer had 88% less bleeding in thick tissue compared to LigaSure Impact¹ and 41% less thermal spread². An improved design compared to LigaSure Impact³ offers separate seal and cut functionally and convenient control placement designed for less hand movement⁵, and 360° shaft rotation is intended to improve access to targeted tissue.⁶

With the addition of ENSEAL X1 Large Jaw Tissue Sealer, Ethicon provides customers access to the most comprehensive Advanced Energy devices portfolio from a single supplier. The ENSEAL X1 Large Jaw is compatible with the existing Ethicon GEN11 Generator and can replace other products or provide an alternative to existing Ethicon advanced bipolar devices to deliver greater value for the health system.
