Elcam Medical has been granted 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its Wireless Disposable Pressure Transducer (DPT) monitoring system.

Elcam Medical’s multi-channel Wireless DPT system is designed for the benefit of both the patient and the medical staff. The system uses bluetooth communication protocol that uses advanced authentication protocol to prevent risk of interference with other signals. The company claims this benefit the patient by increasing safety, eliminating cable contamination, and reducing patient error upon transfer. Wireless technology such as this also benefits clinicians by eliminating complicated tangles of wires and cables near the patient.
