Diatron Adds New Clinical Chemistry Analyzer

The new system is completely automated.

The Diatron Group, a Budapest, Hungary-based provider of hematology and clinical chemistry analyzers, has released the Pictus 700. The new clinical chemistry analyzer is a fully automated, random access system. According to Diatron, the system can perform up to 720 tests per hour on sample volumes from 0.2 to 100 microliters by employing continuous sample loading in a 95 position patient sample tray, with two separate reagent trays.

The Pictus 700 also has 72 reagent channels, an independent cooling system, liquid level sensing and clot detection, and end-point and kinetic detection modes. The Pictus 700 features a cuvette washing system that requires low water consumption (approximately three liters per hour) and does not need connection to the laboratory plumbing system. The software reportedly enables strict quality control and an unlimited number of samples can be loaded through the built-in laboratory information system.

Diatron offers a full line of clinical chemistry analyzers including the Pictus Basic, a simple semi-automated instrument, and medium throughput automated analyzers Pictus 200 and Pictus 400.

Diatron recently moved to new facility in Budapest to consolidate production and support of its clinical chemistry and hematology analyzers in one site. The move allows the company to respond more quickly to market needs and enhance its research and development efforts.
