Eldon James Highlights Antimicrobial Products at Compamed

Company is broadening its reach in European markets.

Eldon James Corp., a manufacturer of plastic tubing and fittings, is expanding its reach to the European market. The Denver, Colo.-based company is highlighting its line of antimicrobial and medical-grade tubing and fittings in the U.S. Pavilion at the Compamed international trade fair in Dusseldorf, Germany, Nov. 14-16.

Compamed is held in parallel with the one of the world’s largest medical trade shows, Medica. Medica and Compamed represent the entire value chain for healthcare products and instruments. While the program at Medica primarily is aimed at users of medical technology, the majority of visitors attending Compamed are engineers, developers and buyers from the medical technology industry. In 2011, the two fairs welcomed a total of 134,500 visitors.

This week, Eldon James is highlighting some of its key innovations, including the long life, peristaltic pump tubing that is autoclavable to 135 degrees Celsius. Eldon James’ products combine clean barrier tubing with an antimicrobial silver lining, which company officials say offers low permeability to eliminate odors and antimicrobial protection to inhibit bacterial growth in the tube. Antimicrobial fittings also are available for a completely protected flow path. This technology often is used for wound drainage and multiple types of catheters. Tubing and fittings are available off the shelf, in addition to custom sizes, private labeling and lot identification.

While all of the company’s products are manufactured in the United States, Eldon James officials say their presence at Compamed demonstrates the company’s continuing growth in, commitment to and support of the European market.
