Providien LLC, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based medical device company, has combined its Plastics Engineering & Development (PEDI) division with its Integra Biotechnical division under the Integra banner. The former PEDI division, based in Carlsbad, Calif., was acquired by Providien in 2010; now part of Integra, PEDI’s Carlsbad facility provides full service custom plastic injection molding and automated assembly for the medical device industry.

Integra’s 50,000-square-foot facility in Carlsbad has 28 molding machines ranging in size from 18 tons to 500 tons. Integra’s goal with the merger is to more seamlessly meet customers’ needs by providing a greater level of service within a single business entity.

“Integra’s new offering of injection molding and complete, turn-key manufacturing will allow us to better serve our customers by providing more integrated service to meet our customers’ growing demands,” said Jeff Goble, Providien president and CEO.

In addition to the merger, Providien announced the hiring of Dave Mabie in the role of vice president of national accounts. “Dave’s presence will help us work to continue our strategic growth initiatives while also maintaining our commitment to meeting and exceeding our customers’ needs,” said Goble.
