Kimball Electronics’ China Facility Gains Medical Device Manufacturing ISO

Kimball Electronics Group Inc., a subsidiary of Kimball International Inc. based in Jasper, Ind., has gained the ISO 13485 certification at its Nanjing, China manufacturing facility. Kimball Electronics is a contract electronic manufacturing services company. The certification validates the company’s quality management system for medical device manufacturing

Kimball Electronics-China is the sixth Kimball facility to hold certification for medical device manufacturing. Kimball’s other locations with ISO 13485 certifications are in Thailand, Poland, Mexico, Tampa, Fla., and Jasper.

“We are proud to now have ISO 13485 certification in all of our manufacturing facilities,” said Tom Ferris, group director of medical business development at Kimball Electronics. “The addition of this certification will allow us to support our medical customers’ needs in the rapidly expanding healthcare market in China.”

The medical segment is one of the largest of Kimball Electronics’ focused markets. The company manufactures components for diagnostic imaging equipment, defibrillators, hematology, urinalysis, ultrasound and laboratory equipment, as well as vital signs, glucose and respiration monitors.
